My Private New York Moment

Upper West Side
Upper West Side

For Sylvain Landry’s Week 5 Photo Challenge, I chose this photo taken from Upper West Side, New York City, a few months ago, as my way to capture and interpret the “light” theme.

This was taken when I was walking down by my neighborhood and took Elliot to his groomer for his hair cut.

It was finally nice walking around the city after a harsh winter.  The air felt crisp, and the left over snows finally melted.  Suddenly, I looked up and saw the clouds hovering over the buildings and tried to cover up the piercing blue sky.   I was in awe with this sharp contrast, especially with the light and dark juxtaposition between the buildings and sky.

I stood there for a few minutes and enjoyed the view.  To me, it was my own private New York moment, my moment to appreciate the simplicity and the beauty of life.
